QUIC Transport Bridge Deployment

QUIC bridge is a requirement for all nodes which enable Wireguard functionality.

QUIC bridge is a requirement for all nodes which enable Wireguard functionality. This feature is compatible with nodes from v1.19.0 (platform release v2025.18-jarlsberg) and newer.

Nym Network uses various transport bridges for routing packets. Operators now need to configure our implementation of a general-purpose transport layer network protocol called QUIC.

Operators can either use the Nym Bridge Configuration Tool and compile the Bridge Runner binary manually, or use the automated deployment script described below.

Recommended
We recommend using the QUIC bridge deployment script quic_bridge_deployment.sh, following the steps below.

1. Download the quic_bridge_deployment.sh script

a. SSH into your server

Run commands as root.

b. Download and make the script executable

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nymtech/nym/refs/heads/develop/scripts/nym-node-setup/quic_bridge_deployment.sh && \
chmod +x quic_bridge_deployment.sh

2. Run the script with full_bridge_setup

Tip
We recommend starting a tmux session in case you need to run other commands simultaneously.
./quic_bridge_deployment.sh full_bridge_setup

3. Follow the interactive prompts

During setup, provide accurate values for paths and configuration details. Avoid pressing Enter blindly to accept defaults if your setup differs.

4. Validate the installation

After running the script, confirm that the bridges are running correctly:

systemctl status nym-bridge.service

5. Restart the Nym node service

Once deployment is complete, restart your node service:

service nym-node restart && journalctl -u nym-node.service -f --all

6. Deployment complete

Success

Congratulations! You have deployed the QUIC transport bridge.

The script also supports standalone tweaks and checks. To see all available options, run:

./quic_bridge_deployment.sh
