1. Create a wallet and Guardian License NFT
You have two options to create a wallet: using a browser wallet (e.g., MetaMask) or using the CLI / Node.js script.
a. Option 1: Browser wallet (recommended)
If you don’t already have one, create a new Ethereum-compatible wallet (such as MetaMask). Copy and save your wallet address, you will need it throughout this process.
b. Option 2: CLI wallet (optional)
Create a new folder and initialize npm:
mkdir ~/mawari/wallet && cd ~/mawari/wallet npm init -y npm i ethersyarn add etherspnpm add ethersbun add ethersdeno add npm:ethersCreate index.js:
nano index.js Paste this code:
const { ethers } = require("ethers");
const fs = require("fs");
function createRandomWallet() {
const wallet = ethers.Wallet.createRandom();
return {
privateKey: wallet.privateKey,
address: wallet.address,
};
}
const walletData = createRandomWallet();
console.log(`Address: ${walletData.address} - Private Key: ${walletData.privateKey}`);
fs.writeFileSync("wallet.json", JSON.stringify(walletData, null, 2), "utf8");
console.log("Your wallet data has been saved to wallet.json"); Run the script:
node index.js Check the generated wallet:
cat wallet.json c. Connect to the Mawari TestNet
- Go to https://testnet.mawari.net/
- Connect your wallet to the TestNet
- Ensure the wallet is set to the correct network
d. Fund your wallet with test MAWARI
- Open the Mawari Faucet
- Paste your wallet address and request test tokens (up to 2 at a time)
e. Mint a Guardian License
Once your wallet has test tokens:
- Go to Mint Page
- Mint up to 3 Guardian NFTs, which will allow you to run a node
2. Prepare the Guardian Node application
a. Requirements
Ensure Docker is installed. Docker Installation Guide
b. Create node directory
mkdir ~/mawari && cd ~/mawari c. Docker Compose configuration
Create a docker-compose.yml file:
nano docker-compose.yml Paste the following:
services:
guardian-node:
image: us-east4-docker.pkg.dev/mawarinetwork-dev/mwr-net-d-car-uses4-public-docker-registry-e62e/mawari-node:latest
container_name: mawari-guardian-node
restart: unless-stopped
environment:
- OWNERS_ALLOWLIST=0xYourWalletAddressHere
volumes:
- ~/mawari:/app/cache 0xYourWalletAddressHere with your wallet address.Save and exit (CTRL+X, Y, Enter), then run:
docker compose up -d Check logs:
docker logs -fn 100 mawari-guardian-node 3. Activating the Guardian Node
a. Find the burner wallet address
docker logs mawari-guardian-node | grep "Using burner wallet" Example output:
2025-09-29T15:26:55.396Z [INFO] Using burner wallet {"address": "0xXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX02"} b. Fund the burner wallet
Send 1 MAWARI token from your main wallet to this burner address.
c. Delegate Guardian License
Connect your wallet and view minted NFTs
Select all NFTs and click Delegate
Enter the burner wallet address from logs
Sign the transaction
A modal will appear to confirm:
d. Verify activation
Check the node logs for confirmation:
Open the Guardian Dashboard to confirm node status Running:
4. Troubleshooting & Feedback
- Ensure the burner wallet has 1 MAWARI token.
- Verify NFT delegation is correct in the License Manager.
